The rules
The Tip Off is weekly sports tipping with real-money-style TAB odds — except nothing is real money and there's no house edge. Just pure picks, points, and bragging rights.
Each round you get a points bank — usually 100 points — to spread across that week's games. Pick an outcome for every game, stake some points on it, and if you're right you collect your winnings. The bigger the upset, the bigger the payout.
Odds work exactly like at the TAB. Stake × odds = payout. A $1.50 favourite pays 1.5× your stake; a $4.00 long shot pays 4×. AI-powered previews and real odds from the Odds API are shown for every game to help you make up your mind.
You have to use your entire points bank — no leaving points on the bench. Spread it evenly if you're cautious, or back your guns and go heavy on a big pick. Minimum stake per game is 5 points. The "All-in" button drops your remaining balance onto one game.
Once per season you can play your Joker. It doubles every single point you earn in that round. Use it on a round you feel confident about — it can catapult you up the leaderboard in one hit. You only get one, so save it wisely.
Get every game right in a round and you earn a Perfect Round bonus on top of your winnings. By default that's +20% on your total — but the admin can tune it per round. Rare, but game-changing.
Points accumulate across rounds to build an overall season standings. Rounds are listed with a deadline — miss it and your tips lock out. Check the leaderboard tab after each round closes to see where you stack up.
The admin can invite players by email before each round opens. If you're on the invite list you'll get a link straight to the tipping page. Once you've submitted you can still re-open your entry and change your tips right up until the deadline.
Every round has a Banter Board — a live chat where players can talk trash, celebrate picks, and commiserate bad beats. React with emojis, or get your message pinned by the admin. Keep it clean.
